How Did the Link Start?
In the fall of 1990 Dr. Starr was invited to provide leadership for The Golden Years Fellowship of the Febcentral Region. Dr. Starr was seeking to communicate with the 300 regional churches.
What is the best way to reach churches in Cornwall, located in the southeastern part of Ontario, and 1200 miles away in Thunder Bay in the northwestern part of Ontario? The answer was The Link!
To the left is a copy of the earliest Link cover.
It was the first Canadian publication dedicated to and for seniors in Canada. The first copy reached the public on May 1, 1991. Dr. Starr was the Editor and Lynda Schultz the Managing Editor.
Dr. Don Loveday, Dr. Gordon Stephens and Hazel Starr made up the Editorial Committee.
The goal of The Link is to encourage, inspire and inform seniors. Pastors and those ministering to seniors are encouraged to sign up for three copies a quarter to give out in their pastoral visitations.
Over the years many have written in and have made meaningful contributions to The Link.
Your feedback is always welcome.
